There are 3 forms of democracy:participatory which is based on majority rule which influence the voting system and appeal to the larger masses today. Pluralist, or people operating through competing interest groups, may voice for a small but accumulative mass that have a strong voice. And Elite, which is the small group that makes decisions for the government, mostly made up of the smartest and wealthiest; for example, in this era its Bill gates with his money and power over a large sum of people.

Natural Rights by John Locke influence the gov to make the Bill of Rights, Popular Sovereignty influence the interest of the people will be upheld instead of the individual to accommodate for the masses, Republicanism by Romans influence the making of congress and the voting system, and lastly the Social Contract by Hobbes made the constitution.
LO 1.B.2: Compare and interpret Federalist and Anti-Federalist views on central government and democracy?
The Federalist favored the constitution which was led by Madison, Hamilton, and Jay. Suggest a strong government to protect the nation and solve domestic powers and proposes that the check and balances would protect against abuses. Anti-Federalist however opposes the constitution and wanted a strong state government and created a strong executive branch like a monarchy type system. Proposed the bill of rights to protect the people from the government.
LO 1.C.1: Explain the relationship between key provisions of the Articles of Confederation and the debate over granting greater power to the federal government formerly reserved to the states?
The articles of confederation did not have the power to tax, making it weak on resources and power to construct or enforce anything. Each states could issue its own money, making the economy in jambles as money is not equal and limited. The Virginia and New jersey plan was propose to create the three houses that have power over each other but limited of their own power.
LO 1.C.2: Analyze causes and effects of constitutional compromises in addressing political, economic, and regional divisions.
Compromises made the three house including the legislative, executive, and judicial branch which check and balance limits their power. State and the federal government have powers of their own and some that are similar. They can intervene with each other with the will of the majority.

Some in question right now is Gay Marriage. States recognize this right but federal have problem due to religious nut jobs in congress opposing same sex marriage.

Separation of powers is what the branches can do separately, for example, make laws, enforce laws, and interpret laws. The check and balance is what keep each branch from becoming too overpowered. limits the power of individual branch with permission from the other branches.

congress propose the policy, president either veto or approve, and lastly judge review the policy or vetoed policy if it is constitutional or not.

Some laws and regulation overlap each other, since they have some similar powers they tend to clash with each other making it difficult for the state and the fed to agree on a compromise.
